At 7,335 acres in size, Prince Gallitzin State Park is among one of the larger parks in the central Pennsylvania region, boasting a 1,635-acre lake and an abundance of attractions and activities for visitors. Glendale Lake's 26 miles of shore hold three public mooring facilities, a family beach with lake swimming access during the summer and plenty of room for fishing. Well-stocked with bass, pike, muskellunge and other fish species, the lake is often populated with boats and boaters looking for a great catch. The campground has 396 sites and some 12 miles of trails cross through the forests, grassy meadows and waterfront areas of the park. Altoona is the closest large town to the park, located some 17 miles away from its southern edge, and the park's rural surroundings keep it fairly quiet despite its size.
Open daily year round.
Free entry. Overnight and activity rates vary, check website for details.
